The work I would choose every time.
IT has held my interest since I was young, and solving an IT problem still gives me the same curiosity it did then. Today I manage IT for two garment factories in Myanmar, with more than 15 years of hands-on experience behind me.
What shaped the way I work
- 2010 – 2017
IT Staff, Myanmar Police Organization
Running servers, networks and CCTV showed me how much people depend on reliable systems, and on clear communication.
- 2017 – 2018
IT Assistant (IT support), garment factory
Setting up a new factory’s IT from the construction stage taught me how the whole system fits together. It was also my first ERP roll-out.
- 2018 – 2019
Personal Assistant to the Managing Director
I moved closer to management on purpose, to see how decisions and operations connect. Then I returned to IT, the work I enjoy most.
- 2019 – today
IT Executive, then IT Manager
From technical operations to managing IT for two factories, while learning how the supply chain works and where IT can help.
Between the business and the technology
Most of my work is translation: understanding what the factory needs, and making sure the people who build or supply systems understand it too.
- Business & factory usersEvery production department, from merchandising to delivery, and management
- IT — my roleTranslate, coordinate, keep things running
- Developers & vendorsThe group’s IT team and outside vendors
How I approach a problem
- 01Go to the floor
Talk with the people who do the work, in meetings and during testing.
- 02Understand the process
Follow how the work flows from one team to the next before changing anything.
- 03Turn needs into requirements
Group feedback into clear change requests for developers, vendors or the group IT team.
- 04Keep operations running
If the main system is not ready, put a simple bridge in place, and retire it later.
- 05Validate and report
Re-test with users, and give management a clear summary to decide on.
Three things I hold on to
-
Technology has to fit the operation.
If it works technically but not on the factory floor, people will work around it.
Visitor system case study -
Requirements start at ground level.
Know who will use it, and how it helps production, before anything is built.
Production tracking case study -
Keep the business running.
Use a simple bridge when needed, and retire it when the right solution is ready.

Teaching and learning
Why I teach
I built my IT path the hard way, with little money. Since 2018 I have taught Microsoft Office, PageMaker and Photoshop part-time, to make that path easier for people who start where I did.
What I’m exploring now
AI-assisted workflows, automation and business systems for more digital operations. I try them in my learning builds first, not in production, while studying for a Higher Diploma in Computer Science and the CCNA.
